Glossary
The terms eConnect uses, defined once. Where a term has a page of its own, it is linked.
A
Access ID — An identifier linking a user to systems outside eConnect, usually a badge or card. See Personal Info and Access IDs.
Aggregation — Turning rows into totals, counts and averages. See Aggregation.
Alert — A notification requiring a decision, recorded as acknowledged or ignored. See Alerts.
Association — Two meanings. Between modules, a link so a record in one reaches another (a camera to a register) — see Associations. Between subjects, people repeatedly detected together — see Associations.
Audit trail — The permanent record of what people did. See What eConnect Audits.
Auto-Follow — Bringing up cameras and tracking a subject as detections arrive. See Auto-Follow.

Bet session — One player's sequence of play. See Bet Sessions.
Detection — One recognition of a face or plate, with image, detector and time. See Detections and Zones.
Detector — A camera or device producing recognitions.
Drill-down — Moving from a total to the records behind it. See Aggregation Charts and Drill-Down.
E–L
Entity — A thing data refers to: a register, a table, an employee, a revenue centre.
Favorite — A module, a view, or a view with its filters, starred so it sits in the drawer's Favorites list and follows you between machines. See Favorites.
Export — Data or video leaving eConnect as a file. See Exporting Data and Exporting Video.
Fork — Branching from a node in your workspace, keeping the original. See Adding and Starring Items.
Logical group — A limit on what somebody sees, as opposed to what they may do. See Logical Groups.

Module — A body of data and the views over it: Cameras, Faces and Plates, Point of Sale, Cases, Casino, Baccarat, Usage Statistics.
Permission group — A bundle of permission keys assigned to users. See Permission Groups.
Permission key — The right to perform one specific action.
Pinned filter — A column filter promoted to a grid's toolbar, where it takes a value without opening anything. Not the same as a Favorite. See Columns, Sorting and Filtering. See Permission Keys.
Pop-out — A view detached into its own window. See Pop-out Windows.
Rating — A record of how a casino player played. See Ratings.

Saved query — A named, reusable query definition. See The Query Manager.
Semantic Search — Finding people and vehicles by description rather than identity. See Semantic Search.
Session — One period between signing in and signing out. See Session History.
Subject — An enrolled person in face recognition. See A Subject Profile.
Tag — A classification applied to a subject or plate, which can raise alerts. See Face Tags.
Tenant — A separate customer or property, with its own users and data. See Tenants and Resellers.
TITO — Ticket in, ticket out. See TITO.
Token — Roughly a short word; the unit AI usage is measured and limited in. See AI Configuration.
Widget — One panel on a dashboard. See Adding and Arranging Widgets.
Workspace — Your investigation, collected as you work. See The Investigation Workspace.
Zone — An area with entry and exit points, measuring visit duration. See Detections and Zones.
