Ace Chart Widget
An Ace Chart widget is a chart Ace produced, pinned to a dashboard so it keeps answering.
How one gets here
You do not add this widget from the dashboard. You pin a chart from a conversation — see Pinning a Chart to a Dashboard.
That is the whole workflow: ask a question, get a chart, decide it is worth watching, pin it. What took a query, an aggregation and a chart configuration is three sentences and a click.
What it keeps
The question, not the picture. The widget re-runs the request and draws current figures, so a chart pinned on Monday shows Friday's data on Friday.
Managing it
It behaves like any other widget: move it, resize it, rename it, remove it. See Adding and Arranging Widgets.
Renaming is worth doing. A pinned chart arrives with a title from the conversation, which made sense in context and may not on a dashboard a colleague opens cold.
Removing the widget does not affect the conversation, and deleting the conversation does not affect the widget.
When to use a Graph widget instead
| Use | When |
|---|---|
| Ace Chart | You discovered something and want to keep watching it |
| Graph | The definition matters and others will rely on it |
A saved query is a stated, inspectable, editable definition that colleagues can read and reuse. A pinned chart is a convenience.
For a dashboard that a team depends on — one driving decisions or reporting — prefer saved queries and Graph widgets. Pin AI charts to your own dashboards freely.
Permissions
An Ace Chart is bounded by the same permissions as everything else. A colleague opening a dashboard containing one sees it only if entitled to the underlying data, so pinning never widens access. See What Ace Can and Cannot See.
Requirements
Available where Ace is configured and permitted. See AI Configuration.
