Faces and Plates in Chat

The assistant can run a real face search against your enrolled subjects from an image you attach — not a description of who the person might be, but the same recognition search the Face Search view performs, with the same results.

Searching by face from a chat

  1. Attach a photograph, or use Ask AI about this image beside a picture already in eConnect.
  2. Ask it to find the person — "do we know this person?", "search our subjects for this face".
  3. You get matches back as a gallery, each leading to the subject behind it.

This is the fastest path from a still frame to an identity. It is particularly useful when you are already in a conversation about an incident, because the result stays in the thread alongside everything else you have established.

What the results mean

Matches come back with the same confidence information the Face Search view provides, and the same caveats apply: a match is a candidate for a human to confirm, not a determination. Open the subject and compare properly before acting.

Read Face Search before relying on this. Everything there about image quality, confidence and false matches applies identically here — the search is the same search.

Plates and vehicles

The assistant can read plate detections, plate profiles, similar-plate matches and the associations between subjects and vehicles. So "has this plate been here before?" and "who is associated with this vehicle?" are answerable in conversation.

Subjects, tags and zones

Beyond recognition, it can reach the surrounding data: a subject's detections, demographics, tags and tag statistics, alerts raised about them, which detectors saw them, and their zone visits and durations.

That makes the assistant a good way to assemble a picture of one person quickly:

  • "When did this subject last visit?"
  • "How long do they usually stay?"
  • "Which entrances have seen them?"
  • "What tags are on them?"

Turning an answer into a record

Two useful next steps from a chat finding:

  • Generate a report — see Reports and Email
  • Keep the thread — the enquiry is already in your Workspace, so it survives the end of your shift

Permissions

All of this is bounded by what you can see. Without face recognition licensed and permitted, these capabilities are simply absent for you — which is why a colleague may be able to do this and you may not. See What Ace Can and Cannot See.
