Version 10 of eConnect marks a significant upgrade, transitioning to modern frameworks supported by Microsoft. This release includes a substantial server update and introduces breaking changes that streamline operations and enhance performance.

Compatibility Note:
This version supports version 9 clients that utilize JSON APIs exclusively.
Breaking Changes

SOAP
- SOAP is no longer supported as it has been deprecated by Microsoft. Legacy support through Windows Communication Foundation (WCF) is also removed.
- eConnect APIs now exclusively support JSON and Swagger schemas.

iTrak Login and Integration
- iTrak Login is no longer supported. Use LDAP for login purposes, which is compatible with both iTrak and eConnect.
- iTrak Cases integration is discontinued, but eConnect continues to support iTrak Cloud Facial Recognition as a separate feature.

Behavior Reports
- Saved reports must be re-created as previous reports are no longer compatible.
Deployment Changes

IIS WebDeploy:
IIS Web Deploy is no longer supported -
MSI Deployment:
- This is now the preferred deployment method.
- Ensure IIS is removed prior to MSI installation.

Container-Based Deployment:
- Version 10 supports container-based deployments on Linux (e.g., Docker). However, video-based export and snapshots still require a Windows machine.
- Container deployment is not expected to be widely used in customer environments yet.
Permission Changes
- Face Bulk Enrollment:
Now part of the default Admin group. Explicit permission assignment is no longer required.

This version features significant advancements in Facial Recognition and License Plate Recognition (LPR), including seamless integration for associating facial profiles with license plates, improving security and convenience. Additionally, it introduces innovative deployment options such as containers, reducing the need for traditional installation methods.

Server Infrastructure

- Legacy integrations such as SOAP and iTrak have been removed to simplify the system and focus on modern standards.
Removals
- iTrak: Minimal adoption and discontinued support by iTrak led to its removal. Use LDAP/AD servers for login purposes.
- SOAP: The transition to JSON and Swagger APIs aligns with industry standards, replacing the outdated SOAP protocol.
Facial Recognition Enhancements
- Subject Profile Redesign: A new gallery-style interface for browsing associated photos and identifying linked license plates, enhancing usability.
- Face Profile Merging: Addressing duplicate profiles caused by low-quality input images with advanced algorithms and merging tools.
